How a Golf Simulator Club Actually Works—The Neighborhood National Way

We get a lot of questions about how our clubs work.
Some people hear about us and get it right away.
Others are skeptical—or just plain confused.
Totally fair.
The way we operate is very different from others. We’ve learned that trying to “sell” people on the model doesn’t really work. We’d rather just share how we work, why we work that way, and—most importantly—the results we’ve seen doing it. Then let you decide if it’s for you.
Here’s a rundown of the most common questions we get.
How big are the clubs? How many members?
- We’re members-only.
- Most members live 10–15 minutes away—many literally in the neighborhood.
- Our clubs are small: 15–20 members in a residential space; 25–30 in a commercial space.
We’ve found those numbers strike the right balance: plenty of availability for members, low traffic for Club Pros, and still some financial upside too.
How often do people play? Will I be able to book time?
- We average 2–3 tee times per bay per day.
- 80% of tee times are solo practice or one-on-one. Couples. Parents with kids.
- 20% are members bringing friends.
- Tee times average 90 minutes.
- Booking 2–3 hours? Totally fine.
- Booking 4+ hours? Rare.
These are rounded numbers for easy digestion—but they’re real. Not guesses. Not projections.
Do people abuse it? Hog the space? Bring a group of friends every night?
Reasonable concerns.
Here’s what’s actually happened after 2 years and 200 members:
- We’ve never kicked anyone out for abusing access.
- We’ve never had a member take unfair advantage.
People get it. They respect it. They know it only works if everyone treats it like their own.
But what does it look like in practice?
In practice, about half your members will be very light users—happy to maintain membership for months or more even with low use. Another 30% will use moderately. And 20% will be super users.
Super users are the watchout—not because they’re a problem, but because you might feel like they’re “taking too much.” You might get frustrated seeing someone’s cost-per-hour drop to $2.
What we’ve found: those super users usually become your biggest advocates. The most willing to help. And as membership fills, they naturally adjust their own use to avoid taking time from others. They understand better than anyone what they’re getting—and they don’t want to mess it up.
Is it too good to be true? Will I even get a tee time?
Another fair concern.
Here’s what members find out quickly:
- The tech’s legit.
- The system works.
- They get plenty of time to play and practice.
We retain 92% of members monthly.
97.8% of members would recommend us.
Those numbers don’t happen if it’s a struggle to use. Frankly, there aren’t many companies—inside or outside golf—who can claim numbers like that.
What’s included?
- Unlimited use.
- Unlimited guests.
- No booking restrictions.
- No guest fees.
- No fine print.
We keep it simple instead of complicated.
What are the rules?
We’ve only got two:
- Treat the club like it’s your own.
- Don’t be an asshole.
It’s a strict one-strike policy. We won’t hesitate to enforce it if needed—but across 10 clubs, 200 members, and 2 years, we’ve never had to.
Why does it work?
Because we work to make it work—for everyone. Members first. Club Pros too. And us.
We put the member as the distant #1 priority, ahead of the club. We make sure they understand that they are—and why we’re doing it that way. And we work with Club Pros who are on board with this approach.
We’ve found that when members experience how they’re prioritized, they put the club as a priority ahead of themselves.
I wouldn’t say our way is the right way. But I will say it works.
And if being part of this sounds like something that could work for you, I’d love to talk about how you can work with us.
